Abstract

Tuberculosis is a direct infectious disease caused by Tuberculosis germs (Mycobacterium tuberculosa) which are transmitted through the air (droplet nuclei) when a Tuberculosis patient coughs and splashes of saliva containing these bacteria are inhaled by others when breathing. The purpose of this study was to
determine the relationship between home environmental conditions and the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis in the working area of the Bandar Khalifah Health Center in 2021. This study used an analytic survey method with a case control design. The number of samples was 60 people consisting of 30
cases and 30 controls. The sampling technique in this study was simple random sampling. The research data were analyzed by Chi Square test. The results obtained are that there is a relationship between ventilation area (OR = 0.125), occupancy density (OR = 0.036), wall type (OR = 0.196), lighting (OR =
21,357), and humidity (OR = 21,000) on the incidence of Pulmonary Tuberculosis. . It is recommended that the Puskesmas need additional health education for the community, especially about pulmonary tuberculosis. This can be done through socialization at the Posyandu, or when going to the Puskesmas and
the community should pay attention to environmental cleanliness, especially the home environment.
