Abstract

This research aims to find out how the existence of Malay tanjak in the present era. This research uses qualitative research, and descriptive data analysis techniques, which will discuss how the Malay tanjak in the present era. The results showed that for the Malay community tanjak is a symbol, identity symbol and so on. People wearing tanjak are indirectly proud of their people. Therefore, wearing tanjak must be in accordance with the methods and rules of wearing it, so that it can make it attractive, both those who wear tanjak and those who see it. Because tanjak is the identity of the Malay people, then do not let when wearing it not to make the loss of the values contained in the tanjak even underestimate the customs of the Malay people. Supposedly by keeping the name of the identity of the Malay prang should be able to lift the values of the Malay culture itself. So wear tanjak with the right manners
