Abstract

Background: The postpartum period is a highly vulnerable time for women and is closely related associated with physical and emotional involvement. Postpartum mood changes are complex, involving biological, psychological, social, and cultural components. Aim: This study aims to investigate the relationship between husband and midwife support for postpartum mothers and the risk of postpartum blues at RSUD (Regional General Hospital) Morowali, Morowali Regency. Method: This study employed correlational method.  The study looks into the link between husband and midwife assistance for postpartum mothers and the likelihood of postpartum depression. Data was obtained from 47 women using scales such as PPSS, MBS, and chi-square test to examine husband support, midwife support, and the risk of postpartum blues. Results: There is a relationship between husband support for postpartum mothers and the risk of postpartum blues, with a p-value of 0.04. Mothers with adequate husband support have a 0.20 times lower risk (CI 95% 0.05-0.76) of experiencing postpartum blues. There is also a relationship between midwife support and the risk of postpartum blues, with a p-value of 0.01, which indicates a significant relationship. Mothers with adequate midwife support had a 0.09 times lower risk (CI 95% 0.04-0.23) of experiencing postpartum blues. Multivariate testing showed that the most dominant factor was husband support, with a prevalence ratio (PR) of 0.20. Conclusions: Postpartum blues prevention relies on husband and midwife support, antenatal care counseling, postpartum blues screening, and follow-up visits. Hospitals should focus on psychological care, antenatal care, and screening for mothers at risk.
