EFEKTIVITAS EDUKASI VIDEO PADA KELAS IBU HAMIL TERHADAP KEPATUHAN KONSUMSI TABLET TAMBAH DARAH

Abstract

Anemia in pregnant women remains a health problem that can increase the risk of pregnancy and delivery complications, including bleeding. Compliance with iron-folic acid tablet consumption is one of the important factors in preventing anemia, but it remains a challenge among pregnant women. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of video education in pregnancy classes on compliance with iron-folic acid tablet consumption. This study used a quantitative quasi-experimental design with a posttest-only control group. The study was conducted in the working area of Karang Rejo Community Health Center, Tarakan City, from June to October 2024. The study population consisted of 50 third-trimester pregnant women with anemia, and the sample size was calculated using the Slovin formula. A total of 36 respondents were selected and divided into an intervention group (n=18) and a control group (n=18). The intervention consisted of health education using video media about anemia and iron-folic acid tablet consumption in pregnancy classes. Compliance was measured using the Morisky Medication Adherence Scale (MMAS-8), and respondent characteristics were tested for homogeneity. The results showed that the characteristics of both groups were homogeneous (p>0.05). The mean compliance score in the intervention group was higher than that in the control group (79.52±15.297 vs. 55.80±30.323; p=0.006). This study concludes that video education in pregnancy classes is effective in improving post-intervention compliance with iron-folic acid tablet consumption among pregnant women with anemia.
