PENGARUH TERAPI MASSAGE PUNGGUNG TERHADAP PENINGKATAN KUALITAS TIDUR PADA LANSIA DI PANTI JOMPO YAYASAN GUNA BUDI BAKTI MEDAN TAHUN 2020
Abstract
Sleep is a brain activity that is relatively unconsciously can lead to situations that are full of calm and without any activity so that the occurrence of repetitive cycle sequences and have different phases, effective sleep quality of approximately 6 hours per day. In the elderly generally have decreased sleep quality, then used complementary medicine that is back massage to improve the degree of health that is improving sleep quality. The aims and objectives of this study are to analyze the occurrence of sleep quality improvement in the elderly who experience insomnia or sleep difficulties, The type of this research is pre-experiment using one group pretest-posttest design method or design, the sample of this research used 20 respondents and used a non-probability sampling method or technique, which is the purposive sampling method or technique. The results of the value or total of this study is to prove that there is an increase in sleep quality or decreased levels of insomnia in the elderly through back massage with a total value of p value = 0,000 through the Wilcoxon rank test. Based on the research results obtained, elderly nurse can make back massage as a non-pharmacological management to improve sleep quality.
