TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN DAN STRATEGI KOPING MASYARAKAT INDONESIA MENGHADAPI PANDEMI COVID-19
Abstract
The spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (covid-19) throughout the world is causing unrest in society . Various mental and psychological health responses arise because of this condition. This causes people to flock to find out about covid-19 to increase knowledge so as to avoid the virus. This stressful situation also requires the people to use appropriate coping strategies to overcome them. The aims of this study was to determine the level of knowledge of the Indonesian people about covid-19, coping strategies used in dealing with the covid-19 pandemic and the relation of the both of variables. The design used was cross sectional with a sample size of 400 respondents. Samples were selected by snow ball sampling. The instrument used for the level of knowledge is the COVID KAP-Psy and for coping strategies is The Ways of Coping. The results showed a good level of knowledge about covid-19 in Indonesian society of 55.8% and moderate knowledge of 44.2%; coping strategies problems focused by 47.2% and emotions focused by 52.8%. There is no relation between the both of variables (p = 0.941). The conclusion of this study is that the level of Indonesian people's knowledge about covid-19 tends to be good, the coping strategies used tend to emotions focused and there is no relation between the level of knowledge and coping strategies used by the community in dealing with the covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia.
