Publication Ethics

Jurnal Ilmiah Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat(Ji-Somba) follows the guidelines of the Committee for Publication Ethics (COPE) in dealing with all aspects of publication ethics and, in particular, on how to handle cases of research and publication irregularities.

Jurnal Ilmiah Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat(Ji-Somba) adopted COPE to meet high-quality ethical standards for publishers, editors, authors and reviewers. As an important issue, publication ethics needs to be explained clearly in order to improve the quality of community service around the world. In this section, we'll describe the standards for editors, authors, and reviewers. In addition, the publisher has no right to disrupt the integrity of the content and only supports timely publication.

For Editors

  • The editor must be responsible for every article published in the Jurnal Ilmiah Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat(Ji-Somba)
  • Editors can communicate with other editors or reviewers when making final decisions.
  • The editor must evaluate the manuscripts to be published objectively, judging each article according to quality regardless of the author's nationality, ethnicity, political beliefs, race, religion, gender, seniority, or institutional affiliation. He should decline the assignment when there is a potential conflict of interest.
  • Editors must ensure that documents sent to reviewers do not contain information about authors, and vice versa.
  • The decisions of the editors must be informed to the authors, accompanied by the reviewer's comments, unless those comments contain statements that are offensive or defamatory.
  • The editor must honor the author's request that someone not review his work, if that reason is reasonable and practical.< /li>
  • Editors and all staff must guarantee the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts.
  • The editor will be guided by the COPE flowchart if there is suspicion of abuse or authorship dispute.

For Reviewers

  • Reviewers should comment on ethical questions and possible errors in research and publications.
  • Reviewers will carry out their work in a timely manner and are obligated to notify the editor if they are unable to complete the assignment.
  • Reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of the manuscript.
  • Reviewers should decline the assignment if they discover a potential conflict of interest between themselves and the author.

4.  Authorship of the Paper : Written work should be limited to researchers who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, implementation, or interpretation of the research being reported. All authors who have made significant contributions must be listed as co-authors. authors who participate in substantive aspects of a study, must be acknowledged or registered as contributors. The primary author must ensure that the co-author is eligible for inclusion on the list of investigators and all authors must view and approve the final version of the manuscript for publication.

5. Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest : Each author must disclose in their manuscript any substantive financial or interest that might be construed to influence the outcome of a manuscript.

6.  Fundamental errors in published works : If the author finds errors or inaccuracies in the published manuscript, the author is expected to notify the editor of the journal or publisher and work with the editor to withdraw or correct the manuscript.
